After the Tatting Meeting

I have been having terrible connectivity problems over the last couple of weeks hence the lateness of my post.  Today all seems to be working so I will quickly write the post before I have to head to the bathroom for the chill pills.  I get VERY frustrated with machines which do not work properly.

Our last meeting on the 1st of June was fantastic - as always. (Perhaps I am a little biassed but I have a wonderful time each meeting).  Magda's tatting group did very well.  She was most impressed with them as tatting is not an easy craft to learn.

Magda at the head of the table with Rianne and Carol on her right and Annelie and Liana on her left.

It would appear that fingers are a very necessary tool in tatting!!!!

Sandra and Michelle were unable to attend the Crochet 101 class due to ill health but they both were at this meeting and got the kits which they had ordered.  Here is a picture of Sandra trying out one of the patterns under the helpful eye of Merle G.

This technique of holding the pattern in one's arm and using the hands to do the work is new to me!

And here is a picture of the project which Merle G started using one of the patterns from the class.

Sue finished a very pretty bracelet at the meeting.

Our next project on the 13th July is a Cellini Spiral Necklace.

This is a picture of the necklace which we will be making.  The cost is for the full kit (all you need extra are a bead mat and scissors.  Of course, if you are anything like me you also need to bring your light and magnifier.  I am still working on cost but it looks to be around R400.  Please let me know if you want to join the class and also your colour preference in good time as I need to get the kits ready.

Brigette has finally found a house to stay in when she moves to Cape Town at the end of the month.  It is a fully furnished 2 bedroom flat attached to the owner's house in Muizenburg.  From the pictures it is very eccentrically furnished but neat and clean.

Now for my really big news.  My youngest granddaughter, Georgia, has been chosen to represent South Africa in the Shotokan International Development Championships between South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Mozambique.  This will take place in Magaliesburg later this year.  How cool is my girl????

Wow, the connection has lasted.  Amazing.

Speak to you soon.
