2015 Dates

Hullo everyone

Yes, 2014 has been done and dusted and my word, but it FLEW past.  I wonder what 2015 will do.

I hope that you all had a super duper festive season and are ready to face the new year with gusto.  My season was a little difficult.  Davey, our Jack Russel got himself into trouble - again.  This time, he was bitten under his left eye by a puff adder.  This is what he looked like when Brigette and I went to visit him in hospital.

The swelling in his face had started to go down but doesn't he look really sorry for himself??  We fetched him home on Christmas Eve and once again he had been turned into an alien to prevent him from scratching at his eye.

We are really happy that he has made a full recovery and is eating and barking very well again.

As if that stress was not enough, we had a severe thunder storm in the early hours of Boxing Day morning and the lightning demolished Eskom's transformer which feeds to our property.  Even though it was a holiday, Eskom sent a team out and by the next morning the transformer had been replaced.  However, we still had no power and were not sure whether our own transformer(s) had been struck or whether the underground cable was faulty.  As you all know, the world goes into total hibernation over the Christmas period so we had to wait until after New Year to find an electrician to help us.  We are still waiting for them to come a lay a new cable.  Thank goodness for generators - ours has been working overtime.  We are unable to use the air conditioners and I am melting.  Other than that all is good.

I am looking forward to seeing you all at Crafty Ladies meetings this year and have posted the dates for the year on this blog.  For the Feb and March meetings, I have not arranged any special workshops due to the fact that I will be away for the second half of January visiting Etosha.  In February my knitting buddies and I will be going on our second knitting tour to the Eastern Cape.  Really looking forward to that as well.

  1. I'm horrified to hear about poor Davey's ordeal. Having gone through that with dogs numerous times I know how terrible it is. I'm glad he's OK!
You are off to a running start with Crafty Ladies and your knitting trip to the Eastern Cape. Enjoy!
